Key Responsibilities

Accountable for P&L for products in the media portfolio (more than £200 million in revenue), leading product performance and profitability

Leads in-life product lifecycle management of products within the media portfolio (inc. product planning and deployment management) and provide product lifecycle support for team members

Overall leading and ownership of new product development and roadmaps for media products, incl. product discovery with customers and prospects, competitor analysis, market analysis, trend watching

Accountability of media product discovery and development budgets

Partners with the sales organisation to win new and retain business including leading RFP responses and sales calls

Investigates and develops new business and product opportunities with business development

Delivers on product sales model, price and packaged to ensure that media products deliver the correct value for the market

Defines the product vision within the media portfolio, influencing product direction within the company

Selects and manages key partners supporting the media product portfolio

Promotes the company, product strategy and products directly to internal and external stakeholders and audiences, defining the go to market plans across media products with the head of product marketing

Leads product management best practice within the organisation, defining processes and procedures and driving continuous improvement

Line manages the media product management team including senior product managers, product managers and graduate product managers

Influences and evaluates product development methodologies used by architecture and engineering.

Extensive experience of product and portfolio management in B2B technology environment

Track record of managing teams

Track record of managing key stakeholders

Extensive knowledge of the commercial drivers for the media industry (segments, customers, competitors)

High level understanding of technology underpinning the required media product portfolio (video encoding and multiplexing, video networking, OTT, VOD)

Extensive knowledge of product management methodologies
-
Good working knowledge of waterfall and agile product development methodologies
